For the Ageas Model Implementation Team (MIT), based in Brussels, we are in search of a Calculation Engine Platform Officer (m/f).
Your function
- Provide leading MIT support in IT linked activities: contribute and challenge functional and non-functional specifications for calculation engine platform and model implementation and work in close collaboration with functional and technical analysts/experts;
- Act as the MIT single point of contact for all IT linked matters;
- Challenge, develop and implement the group-wide calculation engine platform principles together with IT following a structured and phased business & model release schedule linking with the IT release schedules;
- Leading the weekly follow-up meetings between MIT and IT (minutes, actions, issue logging, …)
- Embed the (group) models in scope of the MIT in the international modelling and calculation engine IT platform with a focus on E2E and fast closing delivery;
- Coordinate group-wide UAT activities for the models in scope;
- Assist in resolving issues raised by OpCo’s in the IT specific area;
- Produce calculation engine platform documentation and presentations to different governance bodies within the company;
- Collaboration with OpCo’s risk experts, the Group Risk department and the Risk Reporting department of Group Finance.
Your profile
- Master degree in Applied Economics/Applied mathematics with focus on IT or equivalent by experience, strong IT knowledge is a clear advantage, or a Master degree in Actuarial sciences;
- Must have
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in calculation engine platforms and processes in an insurance environment;
- Knowledge of insurance risk modelling, risk management tools and quantitative techniques;
- General knowledge of accounting principles;
- Familiarity with insurance business (life and non-life);
- Active knowledge of English is a must, knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus;
- Strong verbal and written communication;
- Proactive, flexible and be able to work on an independent basis;
- Be able to embed the model in a structured way delivering against implementation deadlines;
- Be able to present complex materials in a structured and comprehensive way;
- Knowledge of SAS, VB(A), SQL, C++, C# is a clear advantage.
