22/12/2011 – According to the European Commission’s recently published Consumer Scoreboard, consumer satisfaction with Belgian home, car and life insurances was high in 2011. The Belgian score for each of those products was above the European average. In home insurance, Belgium even took second place.
“Belgium, one point” has become a cliché. In the midst of a crisis, insurances still managed to progress from good to better in the eyes of the Belgian consumer.
Moreover, they also performed particularly well in comparison with neighbouring countries.
The EC’s annual Consumer Scoreboard is based on replies given by a random sample of consumers to questions on 51 products and services in telephone interviews. Pleasant things, such as body care or books that consumers buy for themselves top the scoreboard, but insurances are also highly rated in Belgium.
