Awards
Ageas insurance companies have received dozens of prestigious awards in recent years. Here is just a sample:
In Belgium
- Investment-based Insurance Award for ‘Top Profit Planet Euro’ in the Low Risk Fund category, ‘Top Profit Galaxy Euro’ in the Medium Risk Fund category and ‘Planning for Pension’ in the Life Style category (Decavi Awards for Life Insurance in Belgium, October 2007);
- Brokers’ Award for general satisfaction for the third consecutive year; Top Home, CL Auto and Modulis (SME market) won awards in the ‘Products’ category (Decavi Awards for Non-Life Insurance in Belgium, April 2008).
- Innovation Award for Pension@work (Decavi Awards for Life Insurance in Belgium, October 2008).
- Top Vehicle won the award in the ‘Products’ category and Modulis Pack in the ‘SME Concept’ category (Decavi Awards for Non-Life Insurance in Belgium, April 2009).
- At the end of March 2009, Philippe Landrain – member of the AG Insurance Executive Board– was voted Belgian Insurance Personality 2008.
- On 28 October 2009, AG Insurance received the DECAVI "Trophy of Trophies" in life insurance. This rewards the insurer having won a minimum of 15 trophies in 10 years.
- At the start of the year 2010 the independent ICMA survey conducted among 600 brokers granted AG Insurance the highest quality label for overall satisfaction in relation to general insurers. For the sixth consecutive year.
- In mid-March 2010 AG Insurance won the "Gulden Regel" 2009. Over the years this award from the Federation of brokers in the north of the country has been presented to the insurance company that has stood out clearly thanks to initiatives designed to promote brokerage, and this year more specifically initiatives relating to the Internet.
- On 21 April 2010, AG Insurance received the DECAVI "Brokerage trophy" in non life. This trophy is awarded on the basis of a survey conducted among brokers in Belgium represented by Feprabel and FVF, two professional associations in the insurance sector.
- In October 2010, AG Insurance won the DECAVI trophy for "Brokerage", which is awarded not by the jury, but based on a survey carried out among Belgian brokers represented by Feprabel and FVF, two professional associations in the insurance sector.
In United Kingdom
- Fortis Insurance Ltd. (UK): ‘Claims Initiative of the Year’ (British Insurance Awards, July 2008).
Two awards, ‘Most Effective Insurance Initiative’ and ‘Most Innovative Application of Technology’, at the ifs School of Finance, Financial Innovation Awards (November 2007). ‘Assistance/Claims Handler of the Year’ (International Travel Insurance Journal, November 2007)
- RIAS in the United Kingdom voted ‘Personal Lines Broker of the Year’, due to its growth and the consistent quality of its customer service (Insurance Times Awards, December 2007).
- Datamonitor ranked Fortis UK as the most efficient insurer for motor claims in 2008 for the sixth consecutive year, and the most efficient insurer for household claims.
- Fortis UK becomes "Top insurer in terms of service levels" compared with ten other major insurers (Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB) Survey, April 2009).
- Fortis UK is "Top insurer for personal line underwriting and personal lines claims service" (Professional Broking Sentiments Survey, May and October 2009).
- Fortis UK is the winner of the "Incisive Media Gold Standard Award" for the second consecutive year. Fortis UK is the only general insurer to have won this award (25/11/2009).
- Fortis UK is the winner of the ifs Financial Innovation Award for ‘Most Effective Insurance Initiative or New Product’ for ‘YourLife Plan’ and ‘Real Life Cover’ propositions (7/12/2009).
- In May 2010, the "Professional Broking Sentiment Survey May 2010" rated Ageas 'Top insurer for ‘Personal Lines underwriting’ and ‘Personal Lines claims service’.
- At the British Insurance Awards in July 2010, Fortis UK won the 'Customer Care Award', the 'Claims Initiative of the Year', the 'Technology Award' and the 'Personal Lines Broker of the Year' (for RIAS). It was also a finalist for the 'General Insurer of the Year'.
- At the UK Broker Awards in September 2010, Fortis UK won the 'Marketing Initiative of the Year' (for RIAS), the 'Young Broker of the Year' (for Kwik-Fit Insurance Services) and the ‘Investment in People Award' (for The Green Insurance Company, part of Kwik-Fit Insurance Services). At the Bodyshop Magazine Awards, Fortis UK won the 'Insurance Company of the Year' and the 'Outstanding Achievement Award'.
- At the Financial World Innovations Awards in December 2010, Ageas UK receives 2 awards: 'Excellence in Customer Service' and 'Transforming performance or customer service through technology - Financial Services'. Ageas also won the Gold Standard Award… and is the only company to have received this trophy for 3 consecutive years. And last but not least, the 'Insurer Chief Exec's Chief Exec' went to Barry Smith (Ageas UK).
- At the Financial Services Awards in April 2010, Ageas received the 'Best use of Customer Relation Management Technology' and the 'Best use of IT in Insurance' (Ageas Insurance Solutions) awards. Moreover, Ageas won the 'Best E-Commerce Provider', the 'Best Underwriting Team' and 'Best Overall Protection Provider' during the Life Search Awards.
- In May 2011, Ageas received the 'Customer Care' Award in the Post Magazine Claims Awards and the 'Motor Claims Initiative of the Year' from the Insurance Times Claims Awards.
- Ageas won the 'Trusted motor insurance provider' category of the Money Wise Awards in June 2011, as well as the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' and the 'Underwriter of the Year' of the Protection Review Awards.
In Continental Europe
- Ocidental Seguros, a Millenniumbcp Fortis company, awarded "Best Non-life Insurer of Portugal in 2006" (Exame magazine, September 2007)
- Fortis Germany received high marks for its supplementary disability insurance from Morgen & Morgen (4/11/2009).
- Occidental Vida (Portugal) was awarded the prize for ‘Best Large Life Insurance Company’ by Exame (5/11/2009).
- Médis (Portugal) received the ‘Superbrand’ award for the fourth time in a row, and the ‘Brand of Excellence’, both presented by Readers’ Digest (2009).
- Fortis France won the ‘Label d’Excellence’ –awarded by Les Dossiers de l’Epargne– for its new retirement product ‘Forticiel Génération 2’ (2009).
- Occidental Vida (Portugal) won the ‘Best Large Life Insurance Company’ trophy for the second year in a row.
- At the Morningstar Fund Awards 2010, Fortis Luxembourg Vie was rated one of the best fund management companies, receiving for Branch 23 the first prize in the Equities category and the second prize in the Mixed category.
- In France, the ‘Privilège Gestion Active’ contract, developed in 2006, won the ‘Label d’Excellence’ in 2010.
- Ageas Germany received at Top-Rating from the Morgen & Morgen ratings agency.
In Asia
- ‘Best Deal in Hong Kong’ for the acquisition of Pacific Century Insurance, since re-named Fortis Insurance Company (Asia) Limited (Asset Magazine, one of the most famous financial magazines in Asia, December 2007).
- Muang Thai Life was honoured in Thailand with the first prize in the Prime Minister’s Insurance Awards, organised by the Office of Insurance Commission. It also won the Prime Minister’s Award 2008 for the ‘Best Managed Insurance Company’ for the third consecutive year (09/2009).
- In Hong Kong, FICA dominated the insurance category in the SCMP/IFPHK Financial Planner Awards 2009 in terms of the number of successful entrants, and was named as the overall winner (‘Industry Winner – Insurance’). The consumer award – ‘My Favourite Financial Planner’ – also went to one of FICA’s agents (09/2009).
- In Malaysia, Etiqa won the Award for 'Best Takaful Company' and 'Best Bancatakaful' in 2010, as well as the silver medal of the 'Best Contact Centre Manager' and the 'Best In-House Contact Centre'.
- In China, the 'TPAM (Taiping Asset Management Company Limited) China South-to-North Water Diversion Project Financing Project' was presented with an award in 2010 by Shanghai Municipal Government of China for its innovative character.
- Muang Thai Life Assurance, in Thailand, won the 'Best Insurance Company award' for the 4th time, but with the added Honourable Mention in 2010, for having won it three years in a row.
- Ageas Hong Kong won many awards in 2010: the ‘Hong Kong Leaders’ Choice – Life Insurance Category’ from Metro Finance Radio for 2 years running; the ‘Benchmark Best PR & Communications Award - The Outstanding Achiever’, the ‘Manpower Developer 1st (MD 1st) Organisation’ (ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme), the ‘Company Award’ (Branding, Training & Development), the ‘Pro-Choice Life Insurance Award’ from Capital Weekly Magazine for the second year in a row, the ‘High Flyer - Financial Planning’ of the Hong Kong Business Outstanding Enterprise Awards 2010 and the ‘Distinguished Trainer’ accolade from the ‘Hong Kong Management Association's Award for Excellence in Training and Development’ for the 3rd year running. It also received the ‘Caring Company logo’ for the 8th consecutive year for the best fundraiser in the Oxfam Trailwalker Insurance category.
