For its IT Coordination team, within the Group Technology Development division at the Corporate Center in Brussels, Ageas is currently looking for a Business and Technology Architect. This person will systematically apply sound practices in requirements analysis and business-IT architecture, making the IT landscape of the Corporate Center more coherent, future proof, cost-efficient for our Business.

Your function

  • Support Business departments in better business & technology requirements analysis before selecting a solution, to make sure all angles are covered:

    • "all angles" means: combining business requirements, usability, security, maintainability, technical requirements, fit into Corporate Center architecture, total cost of ownership, footprint, future proof…

  • Lead well thought through solution selections:

    • ensure all angles of requirements are taken into account;

    • ensure that various solution alternatives are looked into, and that there is a conscious choice being made;

    • give formal advice on choices/selections from Group Technology point of view, in the form of "architecture approval".

  • Improve vendor collaboration:

    • Lead quality RFIs, RFPs;

    • Challenge vendors during these phases and during implementation;

    • Add to equation ‘why do we use which vendors” (things like limit number of vendors for what solutions, prevent vendor lock-in).

  • Improve Business and Technology Architecture for the Corporate Center;

    • Define architecture vision;

    • Identify improvements to get closer to the implementation of the vision;

    • Make it cross-departmentally sound;

    • Document technologies, capabilities, applications & attributes, interfaces, R&R (Aris – tooling);

    • Maintain and expand the documentation standards;

    • Perform planning for solutions life cycle management (technologies/applications becoming obsolete);

    • Integrate TCO as an angle.

  • Contribute to the Ageas Architects community;

    • Contribute to the Ageas Architects community, and to cross-opco capabilities/technologies/applications catalogue;

    • In collaboration with the Ageas Architects community, identify and propose preferred transversal solutions and technologies for the Ageas Group.

Your profile

  • You hold a master degree in Information Technology.

  • IT Experience of at least 5 years, preferably in similar roles in the financial sector or insurance industry.

  • Knowledge of Finance and Risk processes and the Insurance industry is a plus.

  • You have a conceptual mind and are a doer, able to construct successful solutions out of complex requirements.

  • You are able to see and draw the bigger picture.

  • You possess excellent communication-skills, to business- and technical public, and different levels of the organisation.

  • You have excellent listening skills, to understand the real requirements.

  • You are able to convince people.
