Objectives:

  • Reporting to the Regional HR Director, Asia / Head of Group HR Business Transformation, this position is responsible for delivering across all Ageas Asia sites, developing and delivering effective and efficient T&D processes aligned to the broader HR & Development strategy.

  • The purpose of the Deputy Director, Talent & Development, Asia is to help define and implement the talent and development strategy and framework, ensuring alignment to the business agenda and delivery of development solutions that enable the business to achieve its purpose.

  • The role has responsibility for the identification, design, implementation, and evaluation of T&D activity ensuring the talent and succession, training & competence, professional development and continuous learning of all Ageas employees.

  • Talent & Development liaison with overseas offices (Ageas HQ) and Joint Ventures to share and/or train on Ageas HR best practice, sharing skill/knowledge.

  • Partnering with the Ageas Asia JV’s to help identify and share the Ageas L&D offerings to complement their local offerings.

  • To help deliver the Inclusion Strategy, driving Ageas’s ambition to bring together the perspectives of people of all backgrounds, life experience, preferences and beliefs ensuring our policies, practices and behaviors are aligned to this ambition.

Your key deliverables:

Talent management

  • Define, devise and implement the Ageas Talent strategy and framework, ensuring alignment of and to the business agenda.

  • Assist the Regional HR Director, Asia / Head of Group HR Business Transformation, to oversee the talent review processes and activities and ensure maintenance and tracking of the database of talent information.

  • Assist the Regional HR Director, Asia / Head of Group HR Business Transformation in the implementation and management of talent development solutions such as 360 process, Executive coaching, mentorship etc.

  • Work with senior management to develop long term career development plans for talented staff.

  • Maintain contact with HIPO’s and ensure career development support is meeting the needs identified.

  • Ensure talent management pools are actively managed and proactively find roles within the organisation for talented individuals.

  • Assist the Regional HR Director, Asia / Head of Group HR Business Transformation, to manage Asia succession planning process – aligned to Ageas Group process.

Diversity & Inclusion

  • To assist the Regional HR Director, Asia / Head of Group HR Business Transformation to lead, develop and implement the business approach to Diversity and Inclusion ensuring that all elements of the employee journey reflect good D and I practice

  • Deliver appropriate development solutions to ensure the longer term talent strategy is reflective of a more inclusive approach

Functional leadership

  • Drive a learning culture across the business through effective promotion of talent and development opportunities and demonstration of benefits of learning to employees and managers.

  • To work closely and collaborate with the HR Business Partners and engagement to align and deliver T&D solutions that enhances Employee engagement and delivers on the HR & Development strategy. Includes effective and timely implementation of talent and succession planning processes and support of corporate culture and engagement initiatives.

  • Develop functional capability to deliver wider range and variety of learning solutions to enhance learner experience and learning efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure a blended approach to development is delivered to maximise operational effectiveness.

  • Manage third party supplier and relationships for externally provided talent and development programmes, including quality assurance. This includes working with Ageas Group sourced partners.

  • Implement procedures to manage, control and report on budget expenditure.

Talent and development delivery

  • Develop, deliver and monitor the Ageas talent development plan, collaborating with business areas and HR Business Partners to continually review people, procedures, technology and operational practices to ensure that the changing requirements of the business and future capability requirements are met.

  • Deliver customer-centric solutions from identified business demands, consulting with HR Business Partners to design and deliver learning initiatives that enable the achievement of business goals.

  • Ensure that interventions are based on robust training needs analysis, with clear business focused aims that enable robust evaluation of the event’s effectiveness, and measurement of return on investment.

  • Deliver evaluation and impact reporting of learning interventions as required by stakeholders, HRD management or aligned to relative investment and scope of learning intervention.

  • Ensure effective reporting mechanisms are in place to demonstrate the benefits of training to the business, aligned to agreed measures and/or KPIs, providing relevant and timely MI as needed.

  • Identify and manage risks, in conjunction with Risk and Compliance teams, ensuring that risks are escalated as appropriate and monitored.

  • Promote and support the raising of professional standards and careers in insurance –both internal and external.

  • Manage and deliver the requirements for future talent including graduate, trainee and apprenticeships programmes, ensuring plans align to the talent and succession planning strategy.

Your profile

  • CIPD Qualified or other equivalent professional qualification

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a learning & development leadership role, preferably in Financial Services/regulated environment:

  • Demonstrating experience in the following:

    • Talent identification and succession planning

    • Devising and implementing L&D strategies.

    • Application of Training and Competency frameworks .

    • Coaching and mentoring managers.

    • Project management.

    • Analysis and reporting on data and presenting to diverse audiences.

    • Monitor current trends and innovations in diversity and inclusion strategies and practices, develop corresponding responses, and implement new methodologies, approaches, and programmes as appropriate.

    • Relationship building with/influencing senior stakeholders

    • Highly developed listening, communication, presentation and influencing skills
