In support of its rapid growth and to enforce the PMO & Architecture team, within the Technology Development division at the Corporate Center in Brussels, Ageas is currently looking for an Experienced Enterprise Architect ready to team up in a dynamic environment.  This person will systematically apply sound practices in requirements management and significantly contribute to business & IT alignment from an architecture perspective, making the IT landscape of the Corporate Center more effective & coherent, future proof, and cost-efficient for our Business.

Your function

  • Develop and maintain a Business, Information Systems and Technology Architecture for the Corporate Center:

    • Define architecture vision and models that contribute to the realization of our strategies and goals

    • Manage and maintain the reference architecture library

    • Maintain and expand existing content management standards hereby improving communication, collaboration, and process efficiencies

    • Contribute to roadmap development to address innovation, application portfolio rationalization, and life cycle management

    • Benefit from the available expertise within the internal global network to develop new enterprise architecture insights and realize smart synergies

  • In support of Programs and Projects, provide guidance across the various Business departments to maximize alignment between business and technology:

    • Understand the Business strategy and help the various Business departments to define the link(s) with technology and vice versa

    • Assess the impact of the Business strategy on the IT architecture landscape, including organizational governance, processes, services, information systems and technology

    • Function as guardian of the architecture to make sure that new initiatives ensure coherence and comply with the set guidelines, without jeopardizing business objectives

    • Develop recommendations and translate them into actionable roadmaps and solutions spanning multiple horizons

    • Provide guidance and ensure business requirements are correctly translated at the right level, and consider (re-)usability, security, maintainability, technical requirements, Corporate fit, total cost of ownership, IT footprint, future-proofness etc.

    • As a key stakeholder, contribute to the Project Portfolio board decisions and arbitrage

  • Lead & provide guidance via well thought through solution selections:

    • Ensure all angles   are carefully considered

    • Ensure that various solution alternatives are profoundly investigated, ensuring that the right decisions can be made Provide strong and formal architecture advice on choices/selections from a Group Technology point of view backed by the necessary rationale & justification

  • Contribute to improved vendor relationship management & collaboration:

    • Lead qualitative RFIs, RFPs and innovative selection processes related

    • Challenge vendors during all phases throughout the full selection, implementation & operationalization

  • Contribute to the Ageas Architects community:

    • Contribute to the Ageas Architecture community, and to cross-opco capabilities/technologies/applications catalogue

    • In collaboration with the Ageas Architects community, identify and propose preferred transversal solutions and technologies for the Ageas Group

Your profile

  • You hold a master’s degree in Information Technology

  • Experience of at least 5 years in similar roles preferably in the financial sector or insurance industry

  • You have a conceptual mind and are a doer, able to derive successful solutions out of a complex range of requirements

  • As a team player, you are prepared to stick to the mission and go deep in the technical details whenever appropriate

  • Ability to rapidly define target architectures in line with modern architecture & design best practices

  • Up to speed with recent technology evolutions and continuous learner

  • You possess excellent communication-skills and the ability to explain Enterprise architecture to IT and Non-IT executives

  • You have excellent listening skills, ability to understand and discover the real and hidden requirements

  • You can convince people

  • You are prepared to share knowledge to make the team more powerful

  • Knowledge of Finance and Risk processes and the Insurance industry is a plus

  • Relevant certifications in EA are a plus (e.g. TOGAF), as well as in innovative technologies like modern BI, RPA, enterprise integration & automation and cloud management (Azure, AWS or GCP)
