Your function

This job is positioned in Brussels and the scope of your main responsibilities are:

Operational activities

  • Overseeing the administration of the reinsurance contracts and the organization and execution of the invoicing of the reinsurance premiums.

  • Leading the Claims Management activities, amongst others:

  • Guidance to the claims operations team;

  • Validation of claims acceptance;

  • Calculation of reserves and premiums;

  • Recovery of claims payments.

  • Verification, validation and justification of the statements of accounts.

  • Liaising with Accounting to ensure adequate financial reporting.

  • Identifying and leading process improvement projects, and monitoring of the control framework of our reinsurance activities.

  • Supporting the underwriting team by providing relevant information.

  • You stay abreast of the most recent developments in the insurance operations domain, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Data Quality

  • Data Management of the reinsurance activities.

  • Liaising with the IT-providers, supporting operational excellence.

Analysis and reporting

  • Ensuring timely and accurate accounting and supporting financial analysis and consistent management reporting.

  • Providing response to ad-hoc questions from senior management and other internal clients.

You will coach a team of 2 to 3 professionals.

Your profile

  • You have a Master degree or equivalent.

  • You have at least 3 years’ experience in financial services operations, preferably relevant experience in insurance operations.

  • Excellent operational and process skills.

  • You have strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • You are easy with numbers and you give evidence of an analytical mind.

  • You have a hands-on, pragmatic approach and are result oriented.

  • You are a team player, but you are able to work independently as well.

  • You have a profound knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Full professional proficiency in English and fluent in Dutch or French is a plus.
