Program & Project Management Officer

Technology development

The Ageas Corporate Center is looking for a Program & Project Management Officer who defines the project management practice, the tooling required, aligns the practices and consolidates the project portfolio of all the departments of the Ageas Corporate Center for approval and prioritization at ExCo level. You report to the Technology Development Director.

Your function

Definition Role

  • Define, make evolve and give support on the program and project management practice ;

  • Select, customize, develop and give support on the right tooling to facilitate the project & portfolio management activities ;

  • Develop a comprehensive program and project portfolio management practice (including a dashboard for reporting at different levels ;


Consolidation Role

  • Consolidate the portfolio of projects & programs ;

  • Consolidate the demands for new projects for a first filtering, validation against the Ageas business plan and Ageas strategy, validation with respect to required resources availability in the different teams, and prioritization in the existing portfolio ;

  • Consolidate project key documents like the Project Initiation Document, the Baseline scope / budget / planning of the project, the (Business) Risk Assessments, project close-out report ;

  • Communicate on a recurrent basis on the status of the project / program portfolio to all stakeholders ;

  • Coordinate and organize on a recurrent basis the alignment between PMO, departments project portfolio Managers, IT Coordination, AG IT on the priorities, the new projects, the budget, the planning, the scope and follow-up of the delivery ;

  • Consolidate all costs elements related to projects & programs to make a comprehensive reporting and follow-up on project costs ;

  • Consolidate all involved teams budgets, resources assignation and capacity related to project execution, ensure that FTE capacity is in line with the required capacity to deliver projects & recurrent activities;

  • Prepare and manage the arbitrage at ExCo level in case there is a misalignment in terms of priorities, capacity, and Ageas Corporate Center strategy


Control & Support Role

  • Make sure that all steps and assessments are being executed for the projects in scope ;

  • Challenge and support project portfolio managers and project / program managers on practice, deliverables, planning, budget, dependencies and risks ;

  • Control the delivery of projects in terms of scope, budget, planning and quality, and escalate at the right level any issue that might jeopardize the delivery or the capacity required in the delivery teams ;

  • Train and coach the current organization to bring them to a required level of competence of project, portfolio and capacity management with the objective of identifying the elements to facilitate decisions


Governance Role

  • Organize and chair the recurrent project portfolio board, where the 4 portfolio managers of the Corporate Center are functionally reporting;

  • Organize and report on the new project requests, on the progress of the project in the portfolio and on the closing of the projects to the ExCo, for approval of proposed decisions.


Your profile

  • Master’s degree Business Administration, Economics, Business Informatics or similar ;

  • Experienced senior project manager and/or portfolio manager with a proven success track record, and a knowledge of at least one of the project management methodology ;

  • Experience in the financial sector, preferably in the insurance industry in the area of Finance/Risk is a plus ;

  • Thorough understanding of project & portfolio management techniques and methods including change management principles ;

  • Proven communication skills, analytical mindset, and result oriented ;

  • Proven good understanding or knowledge of ICT

  • Fluent in English.
