Ageas reinsures at group level important parts of the risks underwritten by its insurance companies. A small team of dedicated experts is managing this capital intensive activity. The level of activities is currently growing fast and we are looking for an Reinsurance Administration Manager. The Reinsurance Administration Manager will be positioned in Brussels, traveling will be needed occasionally.

Your function

The role of Reinsurance Administration Manager is focusing on the daily operational reinsurance activities which are centred around:

Administrative activities

  • The administration of the reinsurance contracts and the organization and execution of the invoicing of the reinsurance premiums.

  • Claims Management, more precise the:

    • Verification and validation of the acceptability of claims according to the conditions of the reinsurance contract.

    • Calculation of the claims reserves and the eventual reinstatement premiums, required to maintain the cover.

    • Organization of the recovery of claims payments from outward reinsurers.

  • Verification and validation of the statements of account concerning inward treaties received from insurance companies and reinsurance brokers.

  • Compilation and justification of the statements of account regarding outward reinsurance.

  • Liaise with Ageas finance to ensure adequate integration of the technical reinsurance data in the Ageas ledgers.

Compliance

  • Ensuring that the reinsurance activities are completed in compliance with the relevant legislations, regulations and policies.

IT

  • Organization of the storage of all data on reinsurance operations in the dedicated reinsurance IT-application.

  • Liaise with the external IT-provider and with Ageas group-IT to ensure IT being operational.

Operations

  • Providing feedback and consult with the Intreas Management Board on the status of operations.

  • Identification and implementation of change initiatives that improve workflows and productivity.

  • Supporting underwriting through the gathering and structuring of renewal information.

  • Periodic reporting on the reinsurance business activities.

Your profile

  • You have a Master degree in business administration or equivalent.

  • You have minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in the operational side of businesses, preferably relevant experience in a (re)insurance environment.

  • You have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • You are able to bring together an organization and you apply high moral standards.

  • You possess excellent operational and process skills.

  • You are results-oriented and hands-on.

  • You are a team player, but you are able to work independently as well.

  • You are fluent in English.
