Ageas reinsures at group level important parts of the risks underwritten by its insurance companies. The current volume of inward premiums exceeds EUR 1 Billion.  A team of dedicated experts is managing this capital-intensive activity. The scope and the level of activities is currently growing fast and we are looking for a Reinsurance Administration Officer.  He/she will be based in Brussels.

Your function

The scope of responsibilities includes the following domains:

  • Technical Reinsurance activities

    • Manage the administration of contracts, claims and financial flows, including currency management;

    • Support the underwriting process of all inward and outward reinsurance contracts, ensuring appropriate information gathering and appropriate documentation;

    • Ensure adequate registration of data in the reinsurance technical IT systems;

    • Assist in the maintenance of the control framework for all reinsurance activities;  

    • Support the statistical information gathering to support the steering of the reinsurance activities;

    • Ensure, with Ageas Finance, the correct recording of the reinsurance data in the Ageas accounting ledgers. 

  • Operations and IT

    • Optimize the use of IT-tools that support the reinsurance operations;

    • Collaborate with the externally and internally (to Ageas Corporate Centre) outsourced departments linked to reinsurance:  actuarial support, asset management, compliance, internal and external audit, tax…. 

  • Planning and Reporting

    • Support the Multi Year Budget activities for the reinsurance business;

    • Support the periodic internal and external reporting on the business results, on Solvency 2, on risk...

Your profile

  • You possess excellent administration skills;

  • You have at least a Bachelor degree in accounting, business administration or equivalent;

  • You have 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a reinsurance or non-life insurance environment;

  • You have excellent interpersonal communication skills;

  • You are result-oriented and hands-on;

  • You are a team player, but you are able to work independently as well;

  • You are fluent in English. French, Dutch or Portuguese are an asset.
