Your function

This job is positioned in Brussels and the scope of your main responsibilities are:

  1. Operational activities

    • Maintaining records, processing and verifying new business, claims and financial flows, and ensuring issues are addressed effectively.

    • Based on guidelines, calculation of reinsurance premiums, profit commission and other financial items; assist in preparing the relevant documentation (billing statements and updating financial accounts).

    • Support the underwriting process of inward and outward reinsurance contracts, ensuring appropriate information & documentation and understand contract wordings.

    • Participating in claims improvement projects; improve the processes even the use of IT-tools.

    • Assist in the implementation of Group reporting tools.

    • Maintenance and monitoring of the control framework of our reinsurance activities.

    • Collaborate with our corporate departments regarding outsourced tasks.

  2. Accounting & Reporting

    • Ensuring timely and accurate accounting and reserve reporting.

    • Support consistently and accurately the periodic financial and management reporting.

    • Ensure that the effective collection of reinsurance recoveries.

    • Coordination of the statistical information gathering, supporting the steering of the reinsurance activities.

Your profile

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in accounting, insurance or equivalent.

  • You have relevant work experience in the financial services industry; experience in or knowledge of claims management and reporting is a plus.

  • You have a good working knowledge of MS Office and advanced excel skills, knowledge of Business Objects is a plus.

  • You have excellent administrational and organizational skills.

  • Skilled in administration, accuracy, detailed, numerate and eager to learn.

  • Communicating skills with internal and external parties.

  • You are a team player, but you are able to work independently as well.

  • Full professional proficiency in English.
