Portugal attracts top rankings for reputation and sustainability

Merco is a corporate monitor present in more than 19 countries that assesses the reputation of companies.

This recognition underscores Grupo Ageas Portugal’s position as a market reference, and reflects a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and trust among stakeholders. This ranking reflects views expressed through more than 2,500 surveys, 6 assessments and 16 sources of information including executives from major companies, journalists, academics, NGOs, economic and social experts, and citizens. For a brand that is just 10 years old in 2026, this is proof that the goal to build a solid, human, and relevant brand for society is resonating well with stakeholders, providing even further incentive for the future.

Grupo Ageas Portugal has also been recognised for its approach to ESG, leading the insurance sector in the list of most responsible companies. Within the overall Merco ranking, Grupo Ageas Portugal rose to 16th place, a climb of 27 places over a year. This leap in the rankings reflects the efforts of the whole organisation. Among the social impact projects recognised: the first national summit on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; RFM Sem Olhar a Quem, making culture accessible to all; and MovSaúde Association, focused on promoting health and initiatives around cancer prevention. Finally, the role played by the Ageas Foundation has been critical, as a solid driver in a range of social innovation projects in health, ageing and social exclusion.

But it doesn’t end there…for the first time, Grupo Ageas Portugal also received the highly coveted Top Employer 2025 certification, which recognises excellence in people management practices. To date, just 50 companies in Portugal have been recognised as Top Employer which makes this an even greater achievement.
