Capital Management – Remunerated internship

Ageas Group Capital Management is responsible for ensuring optimal capital structures for the Group and its subsidiaries, while meeting all relevant stakeholders’ requirements (regulatory requirements and in particular Solvency II, debt/equity investor expectations, management requirements). In particular, the department is responsible for ensuring optimal capital allocation, leverage, dividend flows, as well as managing the relationships and the capital models of the rating agencies that rate the Group.

The Capital Management department consists of a small, diverse and dynamic team that operates in close collaboration with the Treasury, Risk, Finance, Legal and Tax departments of the Corporate Center and interacts a lot with all operational entities of the Group, including Reinsurance.

What you can expect

You work during the internship would involve the following:

  • Supporting the development of the Capital Management Framework of Ageas (Dividend upstream, Leverage Targets, Target Capital and Return on Capital measures);

  • Performing peer analysis on capital management matters;

  • Improving the Capital Management quarterly reporting tool and output;

  • Occasionally aiding the team with day-to-day tasks or ad-hoc projects involving Dividends, Capital and the Rating Agencies.

What we are looking for

  • You are a Bachelor’s or 1st-year Master’s student in Business, Finance, Management, Engineering, Mathematics etc.;

  • You have a good command of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with VBA or a basic programming language is a plus;

  • You have affinity with financial markets and ideally basic understanding of the Solvency II framework;

  • You have strong analytical skills;

  • You are proactive and enthusiastic about delivering the best result;

  • You are a team player, but you are able to work independently as well;

  • You are fluent in English.
