Your function

For the Accounting Department, based in Brussels, we are in search of a Reinsurance Accounting and Reporting Specialist. The main responsibilities of this function are:

  • You prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information;

  • You prepare and complete the required information (Balance sheet, income statement, disclosures,..) in the consolidation tool (on a monthly basis);

  • You prepare the Solvency II balance sheet (on a quarterly basis) and complete the required information in the consolidation tool;

  • In close collaboration with the reinsurance department, you gather the business information to be able to record this input in the general ledger;

  • You assist in the preparation of the Solvency II reporting to the NBB (in cooperation with the Risk department and external party);

  • You ensure proper ad-hoc reporting to the regulator;

  • You liaise with the operating companies to ensure proper information inflow regarding the internal reinsurance contracts;

  • You produce (on a monthly basis) an accounting report explaining the trends of the period;

  • You assist in the preparation of the MYB and quarterly forecasts;

  • You take the lead and assist in specific projects;

  • You give advice about procedures, processes and internal control measures;

  • You play a proactive role in changing and maintaining the used financial programs.

Your profile

  • You have a degree in Accountancy combined with 3 – 5 years of experience in Accounting & Reporting (experience in the (re)insurance industry is a plus);

  • You are hands-on, detail-oriented and able to work on an independent basis;

  • You have a positive mindset and a strong eagerness to learn;

  • You have excellent interpersonal skills;

  • You are fluent in English.
