17/10/2012 - Since we established ourselves as Ageas, we have placed a lot of emphasis on communications.  Much time and effort has been put into improving the way we communicate with the emphasis firmly on transparency, clarity and simplicity. It is with great pride therefore that we can confirm that Ageas is the recipient of 2 individual awards and the most prestigious award of the Belgian association of financial analysts (BAFA), the "Best financial information" based on our annual report, website, the quality of our investor relations and financial press releases. Belgian analysts gave us their scores on a detailed number of aspects around 4 items, each of them subject of a specific award: annual report, press releases, investor relations and website. Last year, we already moved up in the rankings, but this year is extremely successful for Ageas as we received 3 awards out of 5 (for BEL-20 companies): the Best financial information award, the Investor Relations award and the website award. We are number 2 for the press releases and number 4 for the annual report. This hasn't happened by chance, it is the result of a determined effort to improve, and coming at a time when transparency in financial reporting has never been more relevant or important, this is a great achievement. And let's not forget that Ageas has excelled not just against a peer group of financial institutions but in a field that covers all industry sectors.  There is an interesting quote that says "There are four ways and only four ways in which we have contact with the world.  We are evaluated by these four contacts: what we do, how we look, what we say and how we say it."  It seems Ageas has ticked these boxes in winning this award but the effort to improve continues… We are only as good as our last press release and last annual report.
