Fortis is delighted to announce Daniel Thielemans as the new CEO of Fortis Bank UK, replacing Angus MacLennan, who was recently appointed Global CEO of Corporate, Institutional and Public Banking.
Daniel will be responsible for developing the UK Banking business of Fortis, with particular emphasis on its continued growth and integration. He will report to Filip Dierckx, CEO of Merchant and Private Banking and to Herman Verwilst, Deputy CEO and COO of Fortis, both of whom are member of Fortis' Executive Committee.
Daniel has worked with Fortis and its predecessors for over 30 years. Most recently, Daniel was Managing Director of Fortis Corporate Banking Belgium. Prior to this Daniel held a number of senior management positions across Fortis's international offices, including CEO of the New York branch, CEO of the UK branch, Group Treasurer in Belgium and Head of Treasury in Tokyo.
