25/2/2010 - Assuralia, the trade association of Belgian insurance companies, has a new head. At its general meeting on 24 February 2010, the organisation approved the appointment of Fortis CEO Bart De Smet as chairman for a two-year term. He succeeds Christian Defrancq of KBC Insurance. Assuralia also appointed a new vice-chairman, Bernard Thiry (Ethias), who takes over from Jacques Forest (P&V).
