Kwik-Fit Financial Services announces consolidation plans

30/5/2012 - Kwik-Fit Financial Services has announced a 90 day consultation period on consolidation of its insurance business onto one site. It is proposing to close its Birmingham centre and consolidate all operations at its centre in Glasgow. This consolidation will reduce operating costs and place Kwik-Fit in a stronger position for future growth. Although this will lead to job losses at the Birmingham centre, June Lynch, Managing Director of KFFS, said that the company would do its utmost to ensure that staff in Birmingham are able to find alternative employment.  They will be presented with a number of options, including relocation to the Glasgow centre, as well as some opportunities at Ageas operations in Stoke and Gloucester.    KFFS will be inviting local recruitment agencies and employers to host open days for existing staff in Birmingham, who will also be offered recruitment workshops.  The 90 day consultation period began on 29 May.
